Petits Rat (2022)

Life-sized scultpure I made back in 2022, based on the experiences of both 19th C ballerinas 'petits rats' and of contemporary ballet cases such as Alexandra Waterbury at the hands of 'abbones' and men involved with dance.

The piece fights back against the objectification and sexual harrassment against women in the arts, specifically in ballet.

Materials are stretchy nylon, air-dry clay, pastel, clear nail polish, wire-mesh and teddy stuffing.
